Anything you Cannes do: Stunning Sharon Stone steals show from Angelina Jolie in thigh-skimming dress

It’s the moment Cannes has been waiting for.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally graced the red carpet - with a dazzling appearance that showed the world they are still in love.
The couple worked the crowds, holding hands as they stunned onlookers, bringing Holywood royalty to the French Riviera.

But just when Angelina thought she had won the award for flashing the most leg - Sharon Stone stole the spotlight, sashaying down the carpet in a dramatic black dress.
The blonde actress, 50, showed no signs of slowing down in the thigh-skimming gown with a long ,trailing train as her youthful figure proved age hasn’t yet caught up with her.
Angelina was the picture of health as she appeared to have put on a little weight, showing off her slender legs in the floor-length nude gown, slashed to the thigh.
The backless dress showed off the star’s array of tattoos - including the co-ordinates of where her children were born, on her shoulder blade.

While the cast of Brad’s new film, Inglourious Besterds, lined up together for pictures, Angelina had to stand behind the official cast, taking a back seat.
But Brad, dapper in a classic tuxedo, was keen to prove his affection for Angelina.
He bucked tradition and left the cast behind to go back for his partner.
Actress Diane Kruger, who also stars in the Tarantino film, however, joined the cast, opting for the Greek goddess look with a stunning white, backless gown.

Sprits ran high as the cast, including director Quentin Tarantino and Austin powers actor Mike Myers, celebrated the screening with a dance on the carpet.
Tarantino grabbed French actress Melanie Laurent to reenact the famous Pulp Fiction ‘Jack Rabbit Slim’s’ scene starring John Travolta and Uma Thurman.
The film won Cannes’ accolade, the Palm D’Or in 1994, and perhaps Tarantino is hoping he will have the same luck tonight.
Queen of Burlesque Dita Von Teese made an appearance but was surprisingly demure in a 50’s style monochrome prom dress while singer Joss Stone, in a canary yellow dress, and reality TV star Victoria Silverstedt, in a purple floor-length gown, brought bold colour to the carpet.

Ubiquitous Paris Hilton was not far behind, wearing the same diamond tiara for the third night in a row - but was sure to bring along her favourite accessory, boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.
It seemed Angelina and Brad injected some much-needed glamour to the festival, which has been, up until tonight, lacking in A-list names.
Angelina arrived on the French Riviera on Tuesday evening after spending the day attending a trial at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

The Oscar winner, 33, joined Brad, 45, and Tarantino at a dinner for the cast and crew of Inglourious Basterds at the Michelangelo restaurant in Antibes, seven miles down the coast from Cannes.
Their meal came ahead of a screening of the tonight, where Brad and Angelina made their first public appearance together since the Oscars on February 22.
