Two weeks after her surprise marriage to her French billionaire lover, Salma Hayek showed off the stunning diamond wedding ring presented to her during the Valentine’s Day nuptials.
After calling off their engagement last July, the actress wed on/off lover Francois-Henri Pinault in a surprise ceremony in Paris on February 14.
While the huge rock must have cost him a fortune, it would have been a drop in the ocean for Francois-Henri, who is the Chief Executive Officer of luxury brands firm PPR, which owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, among others.
Actress Salma Hayek went out with daughter Valentina yesterday in California and bought some chocolate as she flashed her stunning diamond wedding ring

Salma showed off her sparkler yesterday as she took a trip to the shops with their 17-month-old daughter Valentina.
The Mexican actress dressed down in jeans, a cream top and teamed her casual look with a stylish neck scarf. Meanwhile Valentina looked content sucking on a vibrant orange and green dummy.
With the wedding ceremony behind her, Salma took the opportunity to indulge and bought some sweet treats from the ZenBunni Curiosities & Chocolate shop in Santa Monica, California.
She married Francois-Henri, 46, at the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement - owned by the Pinault family - in the St Germain area of the French capital.
But the couple will have to work to maintain their long distance relationship. Francois-Henri is based in Paris while Salma spends most of the year 5,700 miles away in Los Angeles.
The couple met in Venice in May 2006 and, after a low-key courtship, announced they were getting married and having a child together the following year.

Valentina Paloma, who is learning to speak English, French and Spanish, was born in an LA hospital in September 2007.
She is Salma’s first child, but the third for Francois, who has two children from a marriage which ended in 2004.
Months after their split, rumours they had reconciled circulated after they were spotted together in Paris last September.
A friend of the couple told People magazine they were ‘very evidently in love with each other, very affectionate in public’ when they attended the Dubai Film Festival last December.
During an appearance on an American chat show recently, Salma appeared to confirm her relationship with Francois-Henri was back on when she described filming kissing scenes with Alec Baldwin on her U.S. comedy show 30 Rock.
She said: ‘I keep telling Francois, "I imagine I was kissing you."

The people of Venice could have been forgiven the film festival had come early this year when the City of Lights was besieged with A-lists stars on Friday.
Actress Charlize Theron, supermodel Lily Cole, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and even former French president Jacques Chirac jetted into Italy this weekend to celebrate the second wedding ceremony of Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault.
The Mexican actress, 42, and French billionaire, 46, are hosting a second wedding for friends and family after their private civil ceremony in Paris on Valentine’s Day.
Celebration: Newlyweds Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault and their daughter Valentina board a water taxi in Venice ahead of a masked party to celebrate their nuptials
The couple kicked off the festivities on Friday in true Venetian tradition with a masquerade-style rehearsal dinner at the 17th century Punta Della Dogana, the canal city’s old custom house.
The building is one of the most photographed in Venice as it divides the city’s Grand Canal and Giudecca Canal.
Frida star Salma showed off her stunning curves in a midnight blue designer dress and killer heels, and completed her outfit with a black and gold Venetian mask.
Following her own to the water taxi was her new husband François-Henri, looking dapper in a black suit and matching mask, who was carrying the couple’s 19-month-old daughter Valentina.
Party time: Francois-Henri entertains his daughter Valentina with his mask, while Salma bonds with her stepson
Boarding the boat with the family was Salma’s new stepson, François-Henri’s son from his first marriage.
In a boat leaving Venice’s famous Cipriani Hotel shortly after Salma was Oscar winner Charlize Theron and her actor boyfriend Stuart Townsend.
The South African actress got into the spirit of the masquerade wearing a mask and black dress.
Looking summery in a multi-coloured dress was supermodel Lily, who jetted in from her university studies in Cambridge for the weekend’s festivities.
Bashful: Charlize Theron hides her behind her mask as she arrives at the party with partner Stuart Townsend
Fashionable arrivals: Supermodel Lily Cole and Vogue editor Anna Wintour
Leggy: Lily is helped into a boat at the event as she tries to keep her modesty intact in a very short dress
Former French president Jacques Chirac arrived via water taxi with his wife Bernadette and François-Henri’s billionaire father François Pinault.
Also expected at Friday’s party were Salma’s close friend Penelope Cruz, Frida co-star Ashley Judd, Gael Garcia Bernal and Lucy Liu.
Earlier on Friday, some of Salma’s famous friends were spotted enjoying a spot of sight-seeing in the city’s famous Piazza San Marco before the evening party.
Woody Harrelson and his wife Laura Louie met up with magician David Blaine and his fiancee Alizee Guinochet, French actor Olivier Martinez and Salma’s ex-boyfriend Ed Norton and his producer girlfriend Shauna Robertson to sip over-priced cappuccinos as they gazed at the Basilica San Marco.

Chic: Charlize wore a plunging black dress and coat with a mask to the masquerade party
On Saturday, Salma and François-Henri will renew their vows at the billionaire’s 18th century Palazzo Grassi on Saturday.
The Palazzo Grassi, a historic white marble palace, holds a special meaning for the couple because it is the location of their first meeting in May 2006 - where François-Henri was hosting a gala.
They originally wed in the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement - owned by the Pinault family - in the St Germain area of the French capital on February 14.
The couple’s civil marriage on Valentine’s Day in Paris took many by surprise because they had announced the end of their engagement just seven months earlier.

Riding in style: Former French president Jacques Chirac (L) and Francois-Henri’s father Francois Pinault (2nd left) arrive at the party

After a low-key courtship, they announced their engagement and the Mexican’s actress’s pregnancy in March 2007.
Salma gave birth to their daughter Valentina Paloma in a Los Angeles hospital in September 2007, but announced their split last July.
They blamed geography issues because Salma is based in LA and François-Henri lives in Paris, where he runs his luxury brands firm PPR, which owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.
But by September, rumours began they had reconciled began after they were spotted together in Paris.

Salma Hayek’s engagement to billionaire called off just months after birth of first child
By Peter Allen
Last updated at 11:00 PM on 18th July 2008
Actress Salma Hayek and billionaire Frenchman François-Henri Pinault announced they had called off their engagement - because of the 5,700 mile gulf between them.
The 41-year-old Ugly Betty star lived for most of the year in Los Angeles, with the couple’s 10-month-old daughter, Valentina Paloma.
Mr Pinault, meanwhile, lived some 5,700 miles away in Paris, France.
The wedding is off: Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault are no longer engaged
The 45-year-old Chief Executive Officer owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, among numerous other luxury brands.
He is known for working regular 12 hour days, putting his all into his family businesses.
The couple met in Venice in May 2006, and, a year later, announced they were getting married and having a child together.
Valentina Paloma, Miss Hayek’s first child, was born last year in LA. She was a third child for Mr Pinault, who has two children from a marriage which ended in 2004.
Commenting on his latest split, a close friend of Mr Pinault said: ‘Both François-Henri and Salma are heartbroken, but given the huge geographical distance between them, they just couldn’t make things work.
Going solo: Salma with the couple’s 10 month old daughter Valentina in Los Angeles earlier this month
‘Salma had to be in Hollywood to pursue her career, while François-Henri’s life is in France. There was just nothing they could do about this.
‘Both were exhausted by long flights, and keeping in touch by telephone and email just wasn’t enough. They would have weekends together ‘half way’ in New York, but the situation got ridiculous.
‘They just couldn’t make things work, and have gone their separate ways. Family and friends were all looking forward to a lavish wedding. Everybody is naturally hugely upset.’
Miss Hayek admitted in April that the couple’s constant commuting between LA and Paris was odd, saying: ‘To most women it’s crazy. But every relationship is unique.’
One of the couple’s last public engagements was in February, when they attended a New York gala celebrating the launch of the flagship Gucci boutique and raising money for Madonna’s Raising Malawi foundation.
There were warning signs about the split in April when the Desperado actress was asked about a wedding date.
She said: ‘Do I think we are going to get married? Probably. Will it make a difference? I hope not.’
Despite not being officially married, Miss Hayek is now expected to benefit from a multi-million pounds settlement from Mr Pinault.
A representative for the couple said yesterday: ‘We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been cancelled. There will be no further comment.’

When Salma Hayek first married husband François-Henri Pinault on Valentine’s Day, it was a secret, low-key civil ceremony in Paris with just a few family members in attendance.
But when the newlyweds are made up of a big Hollywood actress and one of France’s richest men, it was only a matter of time before they marked their nuptials with a more lavish spectacle.
A-list stars from the world of movies, music and fashion descended on Venice over the weekend for two days of celebrations.
Newlyweds: Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault tied the knot for the second time at the La Fenice opera house in Venice on Saturday
The couple kicked off the festivities on Friday in true Venetian tradition with a masquerade-style rehearsal dinner at the 17th century Punta Della Dogana, the canal city’s old custom house.
The following day they exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in front of 150 family members and friends at the 18th century La Fenice opera house.
The bride, 42, looked stunning in a Balenciaga wedding gown by Nicholas Ghesquiere with her hair swept back into a bun with a long veil.
The Dusk Till Dawn actress carried a bouquet of orchids and stephanotis with crystals and was attended by the couple’s 19-month-old daughter Valentina, who was a flower girl, and her stepdaughter Mathilde, eight, from François-Henri’s first marriage.
Rhapsody in blue: Spanish acting couple Penelope Cruz, in a Gucci dress, and Javier Bardem were among the guests
What a masquerade! Actress Charlize Theron’s Christian Dior halterneck dress appeared to change from full-length to short as the day wore on
The 46-year-old entrepreneur’s 10-year-old son François was a page boy.
Stars including Charlize Theron, Penelope Cruz, Bono, Stella McCartney and former French president Jacques Chirac then followed the couple to the Palazzo Grassi for the reception, which went on into the early hours of Sunday morning.
The guests serenaded the bride and groom with a rendition of Over The Rainbow, while Salma, Woody Harrelson and Charlize joined Bono on stage to sing Stand By Me.
The Palazzo Grassi, a historic white marble palace owned by the Pinault family, was the location of the couple’s first meeting.
The couple first fell for each other in May 2006, when they were introduced by Pinault’s stepmother, and announced their engagement and Salma’s pregnancy in March 2007.
Chic: Vogue editor Anna Wintour (L) looked sophisticated in a Chanel dress, while Italian designer Frida Giannini wore a dress from her Gucci label
Bringing a touch of rock ‘n’ roll to the proceedings: Bono and his wife Ali Hewson
The dress code at Saturday’s wedding was strictly black tie and guests were invited to wear Venetian masks again.
Spanish actress Penelope, who looked stunning in a revealing Gucci one-shouldered blue gown, attended with her Vicky Cristina Barcelona co-star and boyfriend Javier Bardem.
Oscar winner Charlize wore a grey Christian Dior halterneck tiered gown and arrived on the arm of her long-term boyfriend Stuart Townsend.
Later on that evening, Charlize appeared to have shortened the dress into a mini from its previous floor-length status.
Party pals: Charlize and designer Stella McCartney leave the wedding reception in the early hours of Sunday morning
Coupled up: Salma’s ex Ed Norton and girlfriend Shauna Robertson (L) and Zhang Ziyi with her fiance Vivi Nevo
Supermodel Lily Cole, who had jetted in from her studies at Cambridge for the festivities, was with her new boyfriend, American actor Enrique Murciano.
Lily, 20, has been quietly dating the Without A Trace actor, 35, since last year and attended his co-star Roselyn Sanchez’s star-studded wedding last November.
Other couples at the weekend’s celebrations were Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, Salma’s ex-boyfriend Ed Norton and his producer girlfriend Shauna Robertson, Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi and Israeli multi-millionaire fiancé Vivi Nevo and U2 frontman Bono with his wife Ali Hewson.
Also in attendance were Olivier Martinez, Luis Miguel, Lucy Liu, Ashley Judd, Valeria Golino, Gael García Bernal, Enrique Murciano, David Blaine, Gucci designer Frida Giannini and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
Illusionist David brought his new fiancée, French model Alizee Guinochet, who he got engaged to earlier this month.

Salma and François-Henri originally wed on Valentine’s Day in City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement - owned by the Pinault family - in the St Germain area of the French capital.
The couple’s civil marriage took many by surprise because they had announced the end of their engagement just seven months earlier.
They blamed geography issues because Salma is based in LA and François-Henri lives in Paris, where he runs his luxury brands firm PPR, which owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga - the company who designed Salma’s wedding dress.
But by September, rumours began they had reconciled began after they were spotted together in Paris.

Big attraction: Photographers and well-wishers wait outside the La Fenice opera house on Saturday
A friend of the couple told People magazine they were ‘very evidently in love with each other, very affectionate in public’ when they attended the Dubai Film Festival last December.
While the weekend’s parties evidently cost a lot of money, Salma recently denied rumours they were spending $2million on the wedding.
She said: ‘I think a wedding is about love, friends, family and fun.
‘I think spending millions of dollars on a wedding is ridiculous and it has never been my dream. I would never do that.’
The day after the wedding, a beaming Salma and her family made their way to the canal city’s Marco Polo airport.
Party’s over: Salma and her daughter Valentina board a water taxi to take them to the airport on Sunday

Having kept a very low profile during her pregnancy, new mum Salma Hayek is enjoying the fruits of her labour.
The 41-year-old actress took her baby daughter Valentina Paloma shopping and then for a spot of lunch in Malibu accompanied by her fiancé and the father of her child Francois-Henri Pinault.
After giving birth last September, Salma looked radiant and in shape as she strolled through the city with her daughter firmly perched on her hips.
